Save The Turtles!

C is determined to get us back into shape and I am so tired! We would normally go the high school by our apartments, but since football and track practice has resumed we got the boot. I'm actually glad that we can't go there anymore, there is a much better place to go that's even closer. Just down the road from our house is the Grand River and there is a beautiful walkway that goes alongside it. There are trees, poison ivy, stagnant water (the Grand is more like a long pond), leaves the size of my fat heat, and even deer. Just a side note, deer are itty bitty here, about the size of a large dog!

But C is relaxing and enjoying his last few weeks of freedom. Man am I going to miss him when I become a "Cooley Widow." He'll spend all day in the bored-room, and I'll spend all day at work. Oh yeah, I'm working now. It's going fine and I'm learning everything I'm supposed to do...hopefully I'll catch on soon!

Funny story: we were driving down the road to our apartments and C spotted a turtle crossing the road. I know, I know...why did the turtle cross the road... So we turn around and drive back so that the turtle doesn't get smashed and C is literally chasing this turtle around the road trying to keep it from getting hit! The turtle was hissing, snapping, and didn't appreciate C's effort to help him, plus the little guy was fast! C eventually got the turtle out of the street and we haven't seen him since. Californians may say, "Save the Whales," but Michiganders say, "Save the Turtles!"

All he needs is a PowerPoint presentation on the endangered life of the turtle and he's the new Al Gore!

In Hawaii it is illegal to harrass the turtles. They put you in jail and fine you severely! Better check the local laws!
