So this week was pretty exciting! Okay, let me rephrase that, yesterday was pretty exciting! We really did nothing out of the ordinary Monday thru Friday, C studied and K worked. But Saturday, Saturday we went places!
Saturday started early with C going to play football. They went over to a nearby high school and set up. There was a really good turn out, about 12 guys early on a Saturday morning willing to run around and toss a pig skin. They started playing and were looking really good, then the high school football coach came and they got kicked off the field! Hahaha! He was much nicer than I thought he would be, he even showed us where to take a hike to! Literally, he pointed us in the direction of another field they could use, a hike away. The boys did keep playing and were really good, I was really impressed by some of the plays I saw.
In the late afternoon we headed over to the Old Town Blues Festival. We were able to see the last couple minutes of the dueling pianists, then watched the next 3 sets, one of which was a drum clinic. The drum clinic was pretty interesting to watch these guys just make up songs as they went. Plus, there were these two women, who I think must have either been drunk or high, or both, dancing. Just visualize: the first) forties, tight jeans hiked above her belly button, a black shirt tucked in that says "somebody had to make this t-shirt look good" and a red hat that's rim hasn't been fully bent, now imagine this woman dancing all alone (until #2 comes and joins) and dropping it like its hot. If you've ever watched the Seinfield episode where Elaine is dancing you know what we saw - thumbs and all! The second) Mid-twenties, hippie, blond hair completely dreaded out with a green wrapper of some sort in the twisted mix, and a kid in a stroller that she parked and left unattended as she went to dance. Only she didn't have moves like the first, she just threw her arms around a twisted in a off-beat manner. Man, there are some interesting individuals here!
Next, we headed to our stakes youth activity. Since C is in the young mens presidency he went to help and K went so that she wasn't home alone on a Saturday night. This was the most odd youth activity I've ever attended. There was a dance area, primarily vacant the majority of the dance, a game room, ping-pong, and chaperones posted at every door, every hallway, and every entrance. Even C and I couldn't step out without getting questioned. The one good thing about the activity? C actually danced a slow song with K. Cute!

I don't know which sounds worse: Elaine dancing?
Hippie, nasty dred dancing?
or Mormon dancing?
If my memory of Stake dances serves: Mormon dancing wins.
That is fun that you can do all those things! We were in Cedar this last weekend. We sure did miss you two!
