I finished Breaking Dawn last night and I am completely stunned by the book. I NEVER would have foreseen the things that happened, the odd pairings, and the content.
I'm not saying I didn't like it...my only hope was that everything was tied up at the end and I can't say that she didn't do that for me.
1) I was expecting a fight from Jacob to at least try to keep Bella. Instead he imprints on the Loch Ness. Seriously, a little creepy, but at least he's happy. Did anyone else hate the name?
2) The honeymoon...need I say more? But I did appreciate the lack of details on a lot of things.
3) Bella's power does make sense, someone had to be able to stop the witch twins.
I'm just still confused as to my feelings about the book, I know that its not what I would have done, but at least the characters end up getting what they want. What are your thoughts?

Ok, the name was odd, I'll give you that. (But look at what I named my kids - Little Mr. asked just yesterday about his 2 middle names.)
The imprinting was a shock, but Quill imprinted on a 2-year-old, so it's not so creepy. Plus, Edward pointed out that Jacob was not thinking anything creepy about Nessie. So that was good.
Loved the honeymoon!! So well written and fit the pattern of the relationship very well.
Finally, Bella's gift is perfect. It explains her complete lack of physical grace in her mortal life and evens her out with the rest. I thought it was great.
Good book!
I am done reading it too. I am not sure that it enriched my life and I feel that I wasted the "break" Andrew gave me so that I could read it. But, it is done. It wrapped up very nicely for all!
Bella is now something that is strong and doesn't have to be "protected".
Edward has a child and is a father. Plus, he can be with Bella forever.
I missed Alice!!!
Sorry, I wasn't that impressed with the finale. In fact, I had to work to stay awake through it.
The honeymoon... well, I was waiting for her to use the adjective "granite" again and then I would have had to stop reading. I read somewhere that in those four books she used that word 4,231times.
The imprinting... thanks to Eris for clueing me in, although I would have picked up on it sooner or later. At least Jacob got a girl, even though it was the WRONG girl. No wait, I liked the baby better, after she was born, that is.
I'm just glad it's finished, at least until she starts writing about Jacob and Nessie. (I like that name, sorry.) Not sure I can do any more of them.
My final verdict: anticlimactic. Aro didn't scare me.
I had to stay away from your blog until I finished it (apparently DHL doesn't understand that "Saturday delivery" doesn't mean Tuesday).
First, HATE the name Renesmee. I don't like the way it sounds and it's clumsy to read. She could have done much better. Actually, I had a hard time identifying with the kid. Maybe my imagination isn't good enough, but I just couldn't picture her (the fact she was born with teeth made her look like a mutant in my head). I really didn't care about her. :(
I was glad Bella became a vampire, but it seemed like once that happened, the magic left for me. I loved the wedding, the honeymoon, the is-Bella-gonna-die-for-loving-his-baby. I think I was really caught up in the love story and once there weren't really any more tension, it felt to me like Edward became less of the story. I'm probably just secretly in love with him. :)
Overall, it was a good book. I don't know how I could have changed it to fit my liking, but it didn't click as well as the others.
Kara! It was so good to talk to you today. I wish I was better at keeping in touch with people. I am so glad that you read these books though! I waited in line at midnight to get mine and then read it all through Saturday. I don't know what to say... it was good. I am happier about it now than I was when I read it. I guess a happily ever after is the best way to end... Love your guts!!
oh man! i'm so the same- I can't decide how I feel... in SO many ways I loved it, in so many ways it just.... I don't know. yeah- the name, I like nessie, not the full reneesme or whatever. anyway, interesting huh. now- what next read? Any suggestions?
Ok, I didn't read your post until I read the book. I just finished it 2 days ago! It was INSANE for me! Yes, there were parts that were ok but overall, it was strange, gross, and disturbing! I guess though, what part of a vampire isn't disturbing.
You're right....don't like the name AT ALL!!! The ending was LAME! It's as if Stephanie only had a certain amount of pages she could write, she ran out early, so hurry and ended the book. It was not complete, for me!
So, it was odd for me. Still trying to decide my overall feel for it but right now I'm glad I'm done with it.
