We're going to Nauvoo! We are cool [or like to pretend we are] enough to know a family that is actually going to be in the pageant so we no longer have any excuse to not go! We are so excited to see them perform and get to do some church history!
We drive down July 17-19th and are staying at a little B&B. Now all we need it advice on what to do when we are there...
I have tickets reserved for the three shows the Visitors Center produces, we are going to the Pageant, but that still leaves us a lot of free time. Any certain sites, shops, or shows to add to our agenda?
So I work in a business complex area tucked between two major roads, we get our share of squirrels and stray cats, but this week we've had a raccoon show up around our building. He's chunky and waddles everywhere he goes. Plus, he's using the photography studios outdoor beach area as a litter box, so he's somewhat box trained. If raccoons made better pets he'd be coming home with me!
I finished my second oral presentation for my class - whoohoo! Which means I only have one month left and then I'll be done with my first masters class. I can't believe they haven't wised up and kicked me out of the program yet...I guess I'm keeping a low enough profile.
Chris is studying hard as ever with finals approaching. Plus, he's attempting to kill all the ants that are overtaking our kitchen. They are everywhere! We bought those ant killers and nothing has worked! We might have to take some drastic measures soon!

I am so excited for you to go to Nauvoo! You also need to make sure you go to Carthage because it is so close! A must see that I KNOW you will love and appreciate is the fudge shop on Mulholland street! Good luck on your last month with your class!
I will find out where all the great quilt shops are so you can stop in for some inspiration. A quilt shop goes hand-in-hand with Lindsay's fudge shop. What more could you possibly want? (Except for a couple of DIs, which they probably won't have back there.)
How fun! I wish I was going to Nauvoo. I actually am going to Chicago soon, but not close enough. Tell Chris I said hi too and good luck with finals.
Straight vinegar on the floors and chalk around the outside of the house work great for ants...good luck with getting rid of them.
How did you reserve tickets already??? We have free time on Thursday afternoon...hope we can get together while you are there!
Baby powder took care of the ants we had. I know it sounds weird, but sprinkle it over the infested area, tolerate the white dust for a day or two as you watch the ants shrivel(sp) up and die, then you just vacuum up their little carcases. :) Make sure you get all the of trail so they have to go through the powder, not around it.
