The Deer Hunt is On!

If only Michigan was as big on the deer hunt as Utah is, then maybe C and I wouldn't have hit one yesterday...

Nothing big has happened lately. C has been studying and tonight he went to band practice for Erika's big Halloween party. K finished the first of 3 rail fence quilts she's working on - slowly but surely she's learning how to piece quilt!

Yesterday, C and K went with the Young Men and Young Women to a corn maze out in Portland. It was really fun, C even got a little nervous when the guy with the chainsaw came behind us. Freaky! What if someone forgets to take off the teeth, then you have a situation like tonights Grey's Anatomy!

Anywho, as we are leaving Portland we are on the entrance to the freeway and a little deer jumps right in front of the car! C luckily was driving and didn't swerve, K would've swerved (she's bad like that). But we weren't going fast and C saw the deer coming so he'd slammed on the brakes as much as possible and tapped the deer. The deer fell over, hopped up, and ran off into the woods. On the other hand, my poor Lumina is now missing a hubcap and has a broken out headlight. But there wasn't any serious damage to the car and nobody got hurt (I guess not nobody, I can't vouch for the deer). We were definitely blessed.

If you voted to say what the significance of October 19th is to C and K, and you guessed first kiss, you were so wrong! If you guessed first fight, you were wrong too. Although, their first kiss and first fight took place on the same day. The real event that took place on October 19th was their first date. C picked K up at 6pm, fed her chicken and corn, they then went and picked out pumpkins, carved them, and then watched some baseball. The date was over by 8:30pm. Their next date didn't take place for nine more months, unless you count movies in the RA Lounge, lockups, or raquetball. So congrats to those who guessed right!

We still have no clue what we are going to wear to Erika's Halloween party tomorrow, so I'm betting that we go as ourselves. Lame. If anyone has any good suggestions for our Halloween costume, just let me know!
